Anyone who has been active has had foot pain at some point in their training. I started wearing orthotics in my soccer shoes for shin splints when I was 10. My feet have always had issues and the issues became worse with all the impact from barefoot martial arts training. They are the source of my knee issues and its time I start taking daily measures to heal them instead of buying inserts to mask the pain. I found and tried the great but painful techniques in this video and after 3 sessions (doing it every other day because my feet are SORE after) I am noting a difference. If you have sore feet, or even if you don’t, the techniques in this video are a must try if you have a spare 15 minutes. Ideally you need a yoga strap, but a comfortable piece of fabric could work. I bought my braided yoga strap at Whole foods for $6.99, it was a worthwhile investment! When you start, don’t clamp the strap too tight around your ankles as shown this video, give yourself time to work up to that. Also, if you have knee issues you will want to fold a blanket for under your knees.
