Now for the goods on how to make this challenge work for YOU.

Most New Years “resolutions” die a quick death because they don’t have the support they need. Humans are creatures of habit; we take to rituals. Whatever it is we want to achieve must be supported by our daily habits.

Look over your 5 2020 aspirations. Take one and commit to a ritual that will support it. This ritual can be 2 minutes a day, 5 minutes a week, an hour a day… that is up to you. Here’s mine:  I will drink 16 ounces of water each morning before I leave the house until Friday.

This ritual doesn’t need to, and probably shouldn’t, take much of your time. Avoid things that are a pain in the ass  – make it something that you want to do, something that makes you feel the progress immediately.

My mom used to say “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”, to which I’d roll my eyes.  I get it now. It’s funny, because it’s always true. Each day we have on this earth is an awesome gift. There is so much to live for, so much to fight for. Our health is the first and most important step in harnessing the strength that it takes to walk our highest path, to be our best US so that we can be present and supportive to others.

I’m very grateful for you and the role that you play in my life. Thank you for inspiring me to be a better person. I mean it. You give me purpose. For that I am eternally and incredibly grateful.

Hugs N Hi Fives,

Coach M
