Breathe. Be still. Find beauty, wonder, and joy in the moment – right here, right now. When your mind wanders and thoughts begin to creep in, acknowledge them as an observer and release them. Like clouds passing overhead or loose grains of sand, thoughts aren’t meant to be grasped. Let go of what does not serve you and bring your attention to the now, the present moment. When you let go of resistance and fully embrace the present moment, you will free yourself of negative thoughts. Gratitude, inner peace, love and joy will radiate from within.

The now is precious. Life is now. The vibrancy and power of life is in the now, not in the past or the future – right now.
When you bring your awareness to the present moment, “everything feels alive, radiates energy, emanates being”, as Eckhart Tolle states in the Power of Now.
When you come into the now, the quality of your present moment becomes vibrant and full. If you’re always trying to get somewhere other than where you are, observe your specific thought patterns and behaviors, and adjust them – harness the power of the now. The only place where true change can occur is in the now.
Being present, truly present, is powerful. So, what can we do to be more present?
Breath. Becoming present though breath helps you look inward, quiet the mind and focus on the now. Breathe in through your nose, pause at the bottom of your inhale. Feel oxygen and life coursing throughout your entire body. Then, slowly exhale. Imagine your inner light radiating outward. Practice breathing exercises a few minutes a day, when you’re on a walk, or running on the trail, or busting out burpees at boot camp. It will help you access the present and restore your inner peace.
Practice more ease and less resistance. Let go of resistance and allow yourself to be in this moment. When you find yourself resisting, notice if you’re physically resisting (clenching your jaw, furrowing your brow, shrugging your shoulders). Then soften and come back to the present. Know that life right now is what matters.
Be an observer of your mind. Notice when thoughts creep in. Notice how they make you feel. Notice certain patters in your thoughts that may be taking you away from inner peace and joy. Notice these things without judgment and then let them go. They don’t serve you.
Find gratitude in the now. Gratitude is a strong, gentle force of love and presence. When you are grateful for everything in the present moment – your breath, your life, your unique and powerful essence – you are living fully.
Come back to your breath. When all else fails and your mind becomes anxious, frustrated, or nervous, step back and reconnect with your breath. Breath is your life-force and your most powerful tool to tapping into the present moment.
