So you’ve decided you want to make some positive changes in your life. What is the next step? Having a plan of action for that next step will be the difference between success or stepping back into those old, comfy worn out habits you have gotten so used to. The longer you float in limbo the more you are likely to get pulled back. A good plan implemented today is better than any great plan for tomorrow!

Change can be difficult, but there are many ways to make the ride a little less bumpy and more manageable. It is VERY important to commit your change to someone else. Ask a workout buddy, a friend or spouse to keep you accountable. Next, decide what you are willing to do to get to your goal. Be specific about it, not wishy washy. Once you start moving toward you goal it is important that you replace your old habits with new ones. So, for example, if you goal is to start working out for one hour, 5 days per week, then what are you willing to give up? Are you willing to get to bed earlier so that you can rise and shine and get your workout out of the way? Or will you sacrifice that TV time in the evening and hit the gym on the way home from work?

All great things take hard work, and on the other side of the coin, easy come, easy go. True contentment comes when you accomplish your big dreams, not when you are given something for free, right? The harder the task the greater the reward so don’t be afraid to set really awesome goals and go for the gold! Step out of those stinky old shoes, the new ones are much more YOU.
