Exercise is really important. Studies show that exercise can help prevent many lifestyle diseases including hypertension, hypoglycemia, obesity and even stave of diabetes due to the insulin released when we exercise.

When something as simple as a 20 minute walk could save our lives we need to make time for it. There are many medications people take, in fact, America LOVES pills. Let us start a new trend, away from medication and towards prevention. The rising cost of healthcare is due, in large part, to our addiction to the quick fix. When instead we turn towards prevention of lifestyle diseases we gain control of our health, which is awesomely liberating!

Think of your workout as your medicine. When you don’t feel like moving, but you know you should, do it anyway because it has been prescribed to you by you. Don’t be the person that is looking back in 20 years and say “if only I exercised daily” I wouldn’t have this heart condition. Just think how many people who are saying that today and would LOVE to be in your (running) shoes!
