Trail running is a rush, and Sunday mornings on the local trails are a real pleasure because you can totally own them, seeing no one for a few hours sometimes. Whether you are getting ready for Tough Mudder, or just out to have a good time, our local trails can be a killer workout or a beautiful walk. Click here for a list of parks and maps in the east bay. At Gumsaba, we are always prepared, here are some key tips for your journey…

I have never been attacked by a cow, but then again, Im vegan. 🙂 Avoid the cattle on the trails, walk around them.  If there are calves, don’t walk between them and their moms.

Lastly, Â you need to know what poison oak looks like and avoid it. If you take your dogs on the trail the will get into it, and its tough to get it all off. Technu is the only way I know how, but I would recommend leaving the pets at home if you are sensitive to poison oak. Even if I dont touch any, i will get itchy when exposed because i am that sensitive. I use technu wherever I itch. This is what poison oak looks like, there is a ton of it on the las trampas ridge!
