‘Tis the season for holiday parties and sugar-laden sweets.  Wherever we turn, there’s a pie, a mountain of cookies or a tray of tempting fudge brownies.  And, it’s okay to treat yourself every once in a while, especially if you’re taking care of your body most of the time – by feeding yourself plenty of whole fruits and veggies, getting adequate rest, and moving your body on the regular.  But, many of us are tempted too often and too easily this time of year, and go into sugar overload as a result.  But, it doesn’t have to be that way.  Whether it comes to what you eat or what you make for others, sugar doesn’t need to be the focal point, unless…we use sugar in a different way.

Being someone who loves to make things in the kitchen and share with friends and family, I usually bake a lot during the holidays.  But, after some brainstorming I thought there are other things I can do with sugar that won’t give my loved ones a sugar high and that guilty aftertaste.  So, here you have it, Lemon + Sugar Scrub.  Zero calories (because no one is eating it…hopefully) and an easy DIY gift for anyone who wants an extra glow 🙂
