Healthy is the new HOT! Everyone knows that if you want to keep yourself in prime condition you need to eat well and exercise, but the definition of eating well and exercise varies wildly. Since we (hopefully!) know what the definition of true exercise is, lets talk about FOOD!  Simple, non processed foods are what our bodies have been working with for four thousand years. All this talk of low fat and non fat can often mean highly processed. I had a friend in high school who refused to eat avocado because it was fattening but would eat a whole container of fat free cream cheese. She struggled with her weight and moods for years because of the fat free craze. Looking at those ingredients there is nothing in that fat free cream cheese that is actually food!  Since processed foods and GMO foods have been introduced into the food chain, the term lifestyle disease had been clearly defined. Keep it simple. Eat things that have only a few ingredients. Eat things that are nutrient rich and therefore worthy of your hard working body! Figs and Nut cheese recipe (takes about 2 minutes 🙂

Ingredients:

Black figs (ANDI SCORE 62)

Kite hill Artesian cassucio cheese (available only at Whole foods in Nor Cal!)

Simply slice up the cheese and cut the figs in half. Arrange them nicely on a plate and ENJOY!
