Have you ever been so upset your skin feels like its boiling and your head might just explode? I remember a time when that happened to me way too often. But now, I have learned the art of letting go. Its taken a lot of work, a lot of acceptance, self observance, thinking, and rethinking.

No object, person or situation can irritate us. We choose to be irritated. To get to the point where we are not irritated very often, we have to actually realize we are the ones creating our own upset. It’s is only then that we can control our emotions. Getting pissed off is a choice. No one but you can control it.

Your life is a song you are writing…how do you want it to sound? Do you want broken rhythms and hateful lyrics? Are you going to pick it apart and hate on certain beats?  This life is your art. A painting you add to everyday, each stroke is a thought, an emotion, an action. You are the one holding the brush. You choose the color you want to use, how hard or soft the stroke, what medium to use, what canvas to paint on. Be creative, be kind, paint with love. Let these emotions fill your mind and there will be little room for negative thoughts.

Here’s to an enlightened week ahead, to learning about ourselves, accepting ourselves and others as they are.  It is a privilege to choose your destiny, your thoughts, to pick your note, to brush your stroke. It’s all up to YOU.
