When people ask me what they need to do to accomplish their goals, the answer is never the same, even when the goal is the same! Every person is different, and that means a different approach to each journey. There is one common thread throughout, and that is the work you consistently put toward your goal is exactly what you will get out of it. That takes a plan.
If your goal is weight loss, and you are not losing weight, then something in your nutrition-hydration-exercise balance is likely off.
If your goal is to tone up and it’s not happening, are you working out enough?
If your goal is to be consistent with workouts and you aren’t, then what do you need to do to make it happen?
These are just a few examples of the way in which we need to take ownership of where we are, so we can take better control of our journey. And please don’t make any excuses about not attaining your goals; often excuses are what holds us back from getting started.
You likely need a better plan if you aren’t getting good results. “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” – Benjamin Franklin
Here is a shot of what my week looks like, pretty typical. From workouts appointments to meals, there is a color coded plan. Rarely do things get shuffled around, and for the most part it all happens because I plan the time. Notice the gold, these are my personal training times – they are gold for a reason, and never get scheduled over or skipped. Notice the blank areas, that is my leisure time, which I use to organize my home, play music, take a nap, read, write on the blog, etc.
I hope this inspires you if needed. Break down your calendar and get consistent and specific about what your goals are. Let me know if you need help setting yourself up for success.
Here’s to day 19!
